BBQ Member Nominated for NS Music Award
BBQ trumpeter Paul St-Amand has been nominated for a 2017 Nova Scotia Music Award. As front-man for the jazz ensemble Blue Spirits, Paul scored a nomination for Jazz Recording of the Year for the group’s debut album Liquid Courage, which was released this summer.
Liquid Courage was hailed by The East as “a highly recommended debut for fans of the genre and serves as a promise of even greater things to come from this talented group.” The record also caught the attention of CBC Radio’s East Coast Music Hour. Host Bill Roach described Paul’s playing as “a special sound. It’s clean, it’s cool, it’s fat, it’s centered.” (Paul appeared on the program for a featured interview. You can hear the complete audio here.)
Liquid Courage is available for purchase on platforms like Bandcamp and iTunes, and may be streamed on Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, and more.
