Celebrating Local Composers & Maritime Music

Just in time for Bedford Days, the Bedford Brass Quintet presents an exciting concert of original brass music by local composers, plus a few down-home Maritime folk tunes. You’ll also hear unique collaborations between the quintet and special guests: outstanding singer-songwriter Michael Dalton, and Maritime music legend Sam Moon!

The concert program includes compositions by Howard Cable, Ron MacKay, Dave Staples, Bob Bauer, Ian Bent, Ted Blackbourn, Karen MacKay, and the BBQ’s Paul St-Amand.

Admission is $20 at the door or $15 advance online.

A Weird & Wondrous Halloween Concert

Bedford Brass Quintet presents a kaleidoscopic concert full of music that’s bizarre, fantastical, and just plain weird! BRASSQUERADE is fun for the whole family! The show includes strange and eerie classics like March to the Scaffold by Hector Berlioz, Funeral March of a Marionette by Charles Gounod, The Nightmare Before Christmas by Danny Elfman, Thriller by Rod Temperton (made famous by Michael Jackson), and many more surprises!

About the BBQ

The Bedford Brass Quintet (BBQ) has performed acclaimed shows at concert halls, bandstands, churches and schools throughout Nova Scotia. Known for an eclectic repertoire and outside-the-box performances, the group features accomplished musicians who have played with many of Atlantic Canada’s finest ensembles, including Symphony Nova Scotia, the PEI Symphony Orchestra, the Nanaimo Symphony Orchestra, Neptune Theatre, and many more. The BBQ has twice been voted among the best classical ensembles in Halifax by readers of The Coast.
